Handmade reversible wired hairbands. During lockdown I decided to make hairbands for myself to keep myself busy. Quite a few friends commented on how nice they were, so I thought I would make some to sell as a hobby.
Lisa is our stockist of Alex Clark Ware, best known for her sympathetic, quirky and unique depiction of domestic and and farm animals. You don't have to cast your gaze far to see where her inspirations came from, the verdant rolling fields and hills stretching into the horizon are populated by sheep, cows, horses and birds, including the recently reintroduced red kite.
BALLYHOO BEARS & BELLES
Hi, we are Ballyhoo Bears and Belles. That's me, Ceri and my sister Kay
I live in Stamford and make the bears, which I hand knit from all types of yarn such as alpaca, mohair and silk and pure wool. I knit them from my own patterns in all sizes. There are, what I call the little flat bears and also the collectors bear which are sitting down.
Kay, the Belles part, lives in South Wales and makes the dolls called Autumn Whimsy. She designs, draws and hand paints all the dolls. They vary from dolls with just a hand painted head to one completely hand-painted from head to foot. All are her own original designs. They are based on boudoir dolls that were popular from the 1920s to the 1970s and were displayed by ladies on their sofa and bed.

Beautiful Crafts & Workshops
All Hand Crafted by Daphne. Using varying techniques like Powertex, Decoupage and many others
I make unique, wheel thrown, stoneware pots, glaze and fire them in my studio at the bottom of the garden. I apply layers of brush on glazes onto my pots when they’ve been bisque fired, then they go back in the kiln for the hotter glaze firing. I love to work with rich colours and to experiment with how the glazes interact with each other, often creating surprising results - I hold my breath every time I open the lid on the kiln!
My pots are meant to be used and enjoyed, so please hold them, feel their weight and energy and let them choose you.
